Network security has never been so critical for the last decades. Companies nowadays are at a potential risks. The use of data is essential for business needs and user’s education is a priority. The ABC might have installed great antivirus software to protect their system against cyber-attacks. Nevertheless, managing healthcare data in a network with only antivirus is not enough. An antivirus offers great protection and is an effective way to protect against viruses. However, a firewall is a necessary tool to help keep attackers off the network based on rules set implicitly to filter the web traffic and protect files. While antivirus is a great tool to help keep you safe, adding a firewall will give theShow MoreRelatedNetwork Security : A Huge Problem1084 Words   |  5 PagesNetwork security is a huge problem in our society. The Advertising Of Diet Plans And Supplements Essay

Today s society is constantly presented with misrepresentations of the ideal body image through the advertising of diet plans and supplements. Companies in the fitness industry scam people into buying useless products or services by advertising with individuals that have, what the mass media sees as, the perfect body composition. In addition to getting consumers to buy into a product or service, these companies also aid society with the spreading of this fake idea of what classifies as the perfect body. They portray a body image that is unattainable for most individuals in society, despite how many of those supplements being advertised they buy. The models used in these advertisements, are in most cases, starving themselves, enhanced via illegal substances, or are photo-shopped to the point where even they do not look like the model displayed in the ad. All this has led to many people wanting to strive for that perfect body, that in reality, is impossible to achieve. In order to show the affect these advertisements play in our society, I will be deconstructing multiple ads in the fitness industry, as well as multiple peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles centered around the impact media has on an individual s self-image. What is the ideal body image as portrayed by the mass media and how did it come to be? Simple, for men it is that masculinity ideal that is associated with having big muscles. The Epic Of Gilgamesh (746 words) Essay Example For Students

The Epic Of Gilgamesh (746 words) Essay The Epic of GilgameshEssay over The Epic of Gilgamesh The main character in the book The Epic of Gilgamesh is Gilgamesh himself. In the beginning of the book one realizes that Gilgamesh is an arrogant person. Gilgamesh is full of himself and abuses his rights as king. He has sexual intercourse with the virgins of his town and acts as though he is a god. Although some readers of this classic book may say that Gilgamesh does not change from the beginning of the book, it can easily be interpreted the other way. Throughout the book, many things cause Gilgamesh to change. He gains a friend, he makes a name for himself by killing Humbaba, and he tries to become immortal because of the death of Enkidu. Through these main actions his personality changes and he becomes a better person.First, the quest for immortality after the death of Enkidu shows that Gilgamesh has changed. Gilgamesh becomes frightened when he realizes that he isnt immortal. After the death of Enkidu, Gilgamesh tries to find immortality by trying to cross the ocean to find it. He sounds pathetic as he rambles of his reason for trying to find everlasting life. His state of being at this part in the book, which is the end, is completely different from his arrogant beginning of this epic. Gilgamesh has gone from arrogant to scared. Second, the death of Humbaba changes Gilgamesh. Humbaba is evil. Many people who live in the city of Uruk fear Gilgamesh. Most would say that Gilgamesh himself is, in fact, evil. He has sex with the virgins, he does what he wants, and he tends to offend the gods. He has lots of problems with Ishtar. By going into the forest and facing Humbaba, Gilgamesh makes a name for himself and changes the views of the people in his city. This is a very arguable point. Yes, the past of Gilgamesh does not change, but the great deed of killing Humbaba, makes him a better person because he protects his city. This is another arguable point. Most would say he does this only to make a name for himself, but that is not the case. Gilgamesh does this because of his love for Enkidu and his people; he has changed from the beginning of the epic. Finally and most importantly, the main reason that Gilgamesh changes from the beginning of the book is the friendship that he has with Enkidu. Enkidu is made to make Gilgamesh more human. In the first paragraph of the book the gods are angry with Gilgamesh and send down an equal of himself, they send down Enkidu. After becoming friends, Gilgamesh changes because he has an equal to be with. Enkidu and Gilgamesh become as close as brothers. Because of this, a very arguable point comes up. Were Enkidu and Gilgamesh lovers? The answer is obviously yes. What points in the book show this? They go to sleep holding hands, Gilgamesh loves Enkidu like a woman, and Gilgamesh goes almost insane after the death of Enkidu. The point of Enkidu being a lover of Gilgamesh is very important. It allows the reader to understand the reasoning of Gilgamesh changing. There are no changes in Gilgamesh as a person until Enkidu enters the picture. Obviously he is the reason for all eventual changes in the personality and manhood of Gilgamesh. If the belief and understanding of Gilgamesh and Enkidu being much more than good friends is present, then the understanding of why Gilgamesh changes in the book is also present. .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .postImageUrl , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:hover , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:visited , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:active { border:0!important; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:active , .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646 .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u50f71387e4b04804b9458de9ae224646:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Autism EssayIf Gilgamesh is just friends with Enkidu some change is possible, but not almost total recall as Gilgamesh does in the book. People change more if there is sex involved and there is a deep relationship. In order to make Enkidu happy, Gilgamesh has to change, and he does, throughout their relationship. In reflection, although some people would say that Gilgamesh does not change from the beginning of the book The Epic of Gilgamesh, the better understanding of the book reveals that, in fact, Gilgamesh does change from the beginning of the book to the end. The personality of Gilgamesh changes for three distinct reasons. First, Gilgamesh changes in the book because of his insatiable desire for immortality after the death of Enkidu. Gilgamesh wants immortality after the death of Enkidu. Second, Gilgamesh changes in the book because of the death of Humbaba. The death of Humbaba show

Internet Addiction Downloading X Streaming Essay Example

Internet Addiction: Downloading X Streaming Paper Downloading and Streaming has been the two most active activities in the Internet. There has never been a time where the Internet stops sending files from one computer to another. In this article, I will discuss the addiction that can arise from these two activities as well as their causes. To start the topic, let’s begin with downloading addiction. It has been a problem of various individuals to break free from the addictive feeling of ‘Downloading’. Their download queue ranges from Music, Movies, Anime, Games and Software. Downloading is not something that is completely illegal instead it is something that helps us in our work. However, the problem starts when the person in question abuses the power of downloading. So what is downloading? Download is defined as the transfer of data from a distant computer to your computer. It is mostly used for obtaining various Media Files and software from the internet. There are 2 widely used methods of downloading namely: Direct Download (DDL) and Torrent. Direct Download, as the name suggests, the computer connects to the host (usually a server) directly in order to obtain the file. Torrent, however, is the most favored method because of its peer-to-peer technology. So what makes it addicting? Since most downloadable files are free of charge (especially via torrent), people tend to download files (mostly media files i. e. : Music and Video) excessively instead of buying it from the store. Furthermore, most of these files are licensed by different industries thus free distribution and downloading is an act of Piracy. We will write a custom essay sample on Internet Addiction: Downloading X Streaming specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Internet Addiction: Downloading X Streaming specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Internet Addiction: Downloading X Streaming specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer However, there are still unlicensed media available for download (i. e. : Anime). Again, people download these files excessively and breaking their â€Å"ISP Cap† thus causing problems to their Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well to the other subscribers of the same ISP. Today, some ISPs changed their billing methods just to cover their unnecessary expenses because of these Downloading Addicts. Another issue with downloading addiction is that it risks your computer to various viruses and hardware malfunctions as it is turned-on and connected to the Internet 24/7. Another addictive issue in the Internet is Streaming. This is pretty much like downloading in a sense that it involves the Internet. However, the main difference is that no data is permanently saved to the computer. This addiction is not really affecting the society directly instead it helps those who are incapable to download/buy videos and music to have a change to watch/listen to them. However, again, this becomes an addiction when the person constantly streams for videos and music nonstop. So what is Streaming? Streaming is the technology used to transfer media over the internet for the means of watching or listening to without permanently saving the media to the computer. There are 2 types of Streaming: Audio and Video. The first pertains to the streaming music files for the user to listen while the latter pertains to streaming of video files for the user to watch. So what makes it addicting? Like downloading, since it’s almost free of cost to stream videos and audios in the internet, people tend to get addicted into it pretty easily as it is a form of entertainment. Another good thing about streaming is that you can legally view licensed media for entertainment/educational purposes. It also helps to make someone well-known in the internet (i. e. : YouTube). The main disappointing issue about Streaming Addiction is that it makes the victims dependent on the internet for entertainment thus losing interest in supporting local media firms (i. e. : Movie Theaters, Music Stores, etc†¦). In addition, since it’s available to the public, there are sites that use video streaming for pornography. This issue makes the Streaming Addicts prone to watching these media thus ruining their innocent life. A minor issue here is pretty much like the same issue with downloading which concerns the ISP being abused thus giving minor problems to other subscribers. I would like to emphasize that these acts (Downloading and Streaming) are not illegal or bad in nature. It only becomes bad when one gets addicted to it. Like they say, â€Å"Too much of something is bad for the health†.
